In Mexico, VSL, a subsidiary of Bouygues Construction, has constructed the second world’s tallest cable-stay bridge, as confirmed by the Guinness Book of Records. Located between Mazaltan and Durango, the bridge spans a deep canyon and reaches approximately 403 metres above the Baluarte river. This infrastructure play a key part in the economic development of the country, as it is form part of the highway link that connects the Pacific Coast to the Gulf of Mexico in two-and-a-half hours, as against six hours before.
