the Iqaluit airport
Bouygues Building Canada and Sintra have been in charge of the design and construction of this new 10,000m² airport terminal and a 4,500m² service building, as well as the renovation and extension of approximately 400,000m² of runways asand aircraft parking areas. Located in Canada’s largest territory, the airport plays a strategic role: the plane is the only mode of transport that can be used throughout the year to serve this territory, which is as big as Western Europe, and to connect its 25 communities! The project includes an ambitious employment and training programme for Inuit employees, in the understanding and respect of their culture. The project included a cogeneration power plant and is aiming for LEED® Silver certification.
