France
In the suburbs of Nantes, Quille Construction was responsible for refurbishing the Sillon de Bretagne, a rent-controlled housing complex which contains 580 apartments. The project also included redeveloping 6,000 m2 of offices and building five public amenities. The aim was to guarantee the safety and daily well-being of some 3,000 people living and working in the complex. The programme was designed according to the precepts of sustainable development, with the use of solar energy to produce hot water and measures for offering work to people on social integration schemes.
