Bouygues Construction is a partner at the biennial event on sustainable housing in Grenoble
The Biennale will take place in Bonne, Grenoble, the first site labelled as an eco-neighbourhood in France back in 2009. The theme, “Living in a sustainable city”, will be expressed through visits, discussions, and exhibitions open to professionals and the general public. At the Bouygues Construction booth, visitors will be invited to explore the Group’s designs for homes of tomorrow, which include both new and renovated buildings.
Thinking about uses to anticipate the behaviour of users
As new uses are developing, structures need to be redesigned. We are always on the lookout for emerging trends, and we place users at the heart of our projects. This means asking ourselves far in advance about how they will use the building and how they will appropriate it both individually and collectively. The solutions developed by the Group’s teams combine the energy performance needs of the structures and the newly emerging needs and services.
Offers that generate value
The Biennale is an opportunity to shine the spotlight on a flagship invention of the Group: the ABC concept. ABC, which stands for Autonomous Building for Citizens, came from our Research and Development programmes conducted in partnership with architects Valode & Pistre. The aim is for a building or neighbourhood to optimize waste disposal and be self-sufficient in terms of water and energy so that it no longer needs to be connected to the usual networks. The ABC concept integrates the most innovative solutions on a technical and architectural level, optimizes the construction process, and introduces a new vision for housing based on “better collective living.”
Since one goal of the Grenelle environmental initiative is to reduce energy consumption in existing buildings by at least 38% by 2020, real estate renovation is a major challenge today. The Biennale will be an opportunity for the Group to present its new offer of energy-efficient renovation works for housing complexes. Thanks to this comprehensive solution, Bouygues Construction assists its clients throughout their projects, from the design to the maintenance of energy systems installed to finance and the management of construction works in occupied sites.
