The New Tyne Crossing in Newcastle, constructed by Bouygues Travaux Publics, a subsidiary of Bouygues Construction, won the first prize for civil engineering projects in the United Kingdom at the British Construction Industry Awards 2012. This annual event is run by two flagship publications, New Civil Engineer and The Architect's Journal, along with the Institute of Civil Engineers. 

This prize rewards the high quality of work performed by Bouygues Travaux Publics. According to the judges, this is "a demanding, challenging and highly complex project which epitomises excellence in safety, quality, design, innovation and community relations." Criteria taken into account included financing, the quality of site work and the operation of the tunnels. 
Bouygues Travaux Publics, a subsidiary of Bouygues Construction, carried out works on the New Tyne Crossing between 2007 and 2012. A concession project, it encompassed the refurbishment of an existing tunnel beneath the River Tyne, the design and construction of a new partly immersed tunnel and the creation of a road interchange and a toll plaza. Bouygues Travaux Publics paid particular attention to protecting the environment. Measures were put in place throughout the construction programme for the disposal of excavated and dredged material and to guarantee excellent water quality to protect salmon migrating upstream. Bouygues Travaux Publics will be involved in operating the tunnels for a period of thirty years as a member of the concession company, TT2. 

Bouygues Construction regularly wins awards for its projects. In 2011, a rainwater drainage tunnel constructed by Dragages Hong Kong, a subsidiary of Bouygues Construction, was named tunnelling project of the year in the International Tunnelling Awards.
