As a strategic priority for the entire group, promoting sustainable construction with our customers results in concrete actions. Throughout the year, we train their technical and sales teams on this theme and offer long-term assistance on these issues. Since 2010, we have also set up forums for discussion and reflection with our customers and partners. Dialogue established within enables us to anticipate market changes and find, together, new sustainable construction solutions that meet user requirements. By multiplying opportunities for sharing views and know-how, we thereby create relationships of trust based on transparency with our customers and partners. Continuously striving to improve the quality of this dialogue, we have chosen to generalise the customer satisfaction surveys.

Sustainable construction cannot be promoted if we don't actually pay the utmost respect to our teams and stakeholders. Our vision of the profession is part of a field of values based on our actions. Among them, ethics benefits from a dedicated policy, led by a committee spearheaded by the Legal department. All of our teams must apply our code of ethics and an ad-hoc training plan has been set up. More than 2,500 managers have in particular been trained in business ethics in the last three years. Internally, the CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) requirements are demanding; but our suppliers and sub-contractors must also be encouraged to move in this direction. This is why our responsible purchasing policy, which in particular is based on the Suppliers CSR charter, helps to drive this virtuous circle. The CSR performances of our suppliers are also assessed by Ecovadis and our wood is purchased via a partnership with WWF.

Meeting the challenges of sustainable construction means enlisting the help of all stakeholders throughout the entire value chain: design, construction, operation and maintenance. By creating customised partnerships based on specific goals, we obtain important results on the environmental respect level and contribute to the performance of customers. With this in mind, many partnerships have already been able to provide significant results. For example, during construction of the underground high-voltage power line between Boutre and Trans (PACA), we entrusted the manufacture of sheathing to a supplier who was able to manufacture the equipment on site and adapt its production to the site's needs. Results: 87,525 kilometres of transportation avoided and 5% gain in productivity for the installation. For this initiative, Bouygues Construction's purchasing department received the 2014 Purchasing Award in the "Supplier Innovation" category.
