In Sydney, Bouygues Construction Australia and Lend Lease are designing and building NorthConnex, which is a 9 km-long twin tunnel motorway connecting the west and the north of Sydney. The new infrastructure will bring huge environmental benefits and ease traffic congestion on the outskirts of Sydney by taking almost 5000 trucks off the Pennant Hills Road each day. Drivers taking this tunnel will be able to avoid some twenty sets of traffic lights and reduce their travel time by 15 minutes. The work, due to last four years, will create 2500 jobs.
