Dunkirk methane terminal
As part of the vast Dunkirk methane terminal project, EDF has commissioned Bouygues Travaux Publics and Entrepose Contracting to design and construct three prestressed concrete LNG reservoirs. With a 570,000 m3 capacity, a diameter measuring 91 m and a height of 50 m, these reservoirs will be some of the biggest in the world. Located on a fragile coastline, the construction site has to meet extremely stringent environmental protection requirements. For example, a concrete plant has been especially built on the site itself in order to reduce lorry noise and traffic. Since the very start, Bouygues Travaux Publics, along with its public and community partners, has conducted a large-scale inclusion project to integrate the long-term unemployed into their roster of locally-engaged staff.
