Bouygues Construction employees take part in the 2008 beijing olympics and Paralympics

Four Bouygues Construction employees who are also elite sportsmen and women will represent France at the forthcoming Beijing Olympic and Paralympic Games. Three of them will be competing in the Olympics from August 8 to 24, and the fourth will be involved in the Paralympics, held from September 6 to 17.
 
Anne-Lise Touya

A human resources manager, Anne-Lise Touya, 26, is a fencer, specialising in sabre. She has a string of titles to her credit, both as an individual (two-times world champion in 2001 and 2005, European champion in 2000, French champion in 2000 and 2001, two-times world junior champion in 1999 and 2000) and in team events (world vice-champion in 1999, 3rd place in the 2006 European championships, world champion in 2006 and 2007, European champion in 2005 and 2007).

Delphine Racinet

A controller with Ballestrero (a subsidiary of Bouygues Bâtiment Ile-de-France), Delphine Racinet, 34, practises Olympic trapshooting. Silver medallist at the Sydney Games in 2000, she finished first in the world cup in Granada in 2003 and was European champion in 2007.

Jonathan Coeffic

A methods engineer with GFC Construction (a Bouygues Construction subsidiary operating in south-eastern France), Jonathan Coeffic, 27, is a rower. He came 2nd in the 2007 world championships (quadruple sculls) and 2nd in the world cup in 2007 and 2008. He is also individual French skiff champion and won the Henley Royal Regatta in the UK in 2006.

Serge Ornem

An administrator with Brézillon (a subsidiary of Bouygues Bâtiment Ile-de-France), Serge Ornem, 30, is a sprinter in handisport athletics. He has run many times in the French team in his specialist events, the 100 m, 200 m and 4x100 m relay. He was silver medallist in the 4x100 m relay in the world championships in Villeneuve d’Ascq in July 2002 and gold medallist in the European championships at 100 m and 200 m in June 2003. He won silver in the 4x100 m relay at the Athens Paralympics in 2004 and came 4th in both the individual 100 m and the 200 m.

Bouygues Construction has supported top-level sportsmen and women for some 20 years. More than a 10 have joined the group as employees. Through contracts signed with the French Ministry of Sport, these elite sportspeople are able to organise their time between their professional responsibilities and their sporting activities (training and competition). This support shows the group’s desire to forge a competitive spirit and promote teamwork among its personnel. The commitment shown by employees involved in sport at the highest level serves as an invaluable example and is a vital part of motivating and unifying teams within the group. 

Bouygues Construction is fully backing all four of its Olympians in the 2008 Beijing Games.
