Terre Plurielle, Bouygues Construction's corporate foundation, is launching the "Terre d'Avenir" programme to promote employee involvement in education and employment initiatives
Since it was created eight years ago, Terre Plurielle has taken action in around 25 countries to finance projects sponsored by more than 200 employees, working alongside over 130 associations. The Terre d’Avenir programme forms part of a move to focus the foundation’s activities on the areas of education, employment and health.
Philippe Bonnave, Chairman and Chief Executive of Bouygues Construction and Chairman of Terre Plurielle, said: “As a responsible local player in the communities where it operates, Bouygues Construction is at the heart of issues relating to education and employment. Our roots at local level give us a duty to provide opportunities for jobseekers by mentoring people in integration schemes, to promote access to education and to support children with learning difficulties.”
The Terre d’Avenir programme meets a growing need for commitment expressed by Bouygues Construction employees. It consists of two parts:
- Employment: site workers emanating from professional integration programmes working on the Paris Law Courts and the Nîmes-Montpellier rail bypass projects, both of which are particularly motivated, are given support by mentors within the Group until they find a job. Another professional integration initiative has been launched in the United Kingdom by our subsidiary, Bouygues UK, through a partnership with Women into Construction, a not-for-profit organisation promoting employment opportunities for women in the construction industry.
- Education: all Bouygues Construction employees in France can volunteer to tutor school students at all levels of junior school and high school thanks to a partnership with a specialised organisation, Entraide Scolaire Amicale.
The Terre Plurielle Foundation is a fundamental part of Bouygues Construction’s Corporate Social Responsibility policy. In addition to the foundation’s sponsorship and patronage activities, initiatives are also carried out by the Group’s subsidiaries throughout the world to support charity operations in aid of local communities. A total of 467 partnerships with not-for-profit organisations were in place in 2015.
